Aurora, Ill. June 9, 2009 – BRK Brands, Inc., manufacturer of First Alert® branded home-safety products, has announced and completed the acquisition of Stuhlbarg International Sales Company, Inc. (SISCO), a market leader in fireproof and waterproof safes for homes and offices. The purchase also includes SISCO’s line of office shredders. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The product line includes steel and resin safes including combination dial, digital and biometric locks; waterproof cabinet-style safes; large capacity safes designed to protect long guns; fire and water protection chests; steel cash and security boxes; and shredders.

SISCO has long been recognized for its numerous product innovations and performance advantages. The company was first to bring such features as biometric locks, waterproof molded safes and emergency access keys to the category. Other customer advantages include five-year product warranties, hidden hinges for additional theft protection and an integrated fire-resistant and waterproof bolt-down system.
Mort Stuhlbarg, with over 30 years in the industry, will remain with the company as the Founding Chairman to support the strategic growth of the business and the development of new and innovative related products.
