Dan Sanford joined NewCap Partners in 2002 and resides in the Orange County office. His career spans 25 years of diverse transactional experience with public and private middle-market companies. He has originated and closed, both as agent and/or principal, over $8 billion of capital market financings and M&A advisory assignments. His corporate finance and investment banking experience includes leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, acquisitions, divestitures, mergers and complex structured transactions. He has focused primarily on emerging growth companies operating across numerous industry segments, including: manufacturing & distribution: branded consumer & industrial products; specialty retail; biotech & medical device; food service; real estate and energy.

Prior to joining NewCap Partners, Mr. Sanford was a Managing Director of Investment Banking at Wells Fargo Securities. Before his recruitment to Wells Fargo, he was a Managing Director at Wedbush Morgan Securities, where he served as banking generalist and managed the firm’s healthcare banking practice. Previously, during his 12-year career with Citicorp, Mr. Sanford was a Senior Banker for non-investment grade West Coast banking clients. He also commanded a swat team responsible for unwinding Citicorp’s distressed commercial real estate business.

Prior to Citicorp, Mr. Sanford was a Principal at C&K Partners, a boutique private equity firm; and banker in the Corporate Finance Department at Bateman Eichler, Hill Richards Inc. Earlier, he served as Vice President & Region Manager of the Western Energy Group at Security Pacific National Bank.

Dan Sanford received his M.B.A. degree from California State University, Fullerton, with a concentration in Finance. He also holds a B.A. degree in English Literature from the University of Southern California.
