Mr. Turney has been with NewCap Partners since its founding in 1987.  Mr. Turney has been involved in a variety of merger and acquisition transactions during his career with NewCap Partners. He has also participated in a variety of financing transactions, with a particular focus on management buyouts. 

Prior to founding NewCap Partners, Mr. Turney was with Hambrecht & Quist where he was responsible for the firm’s equity financing activities in Southern California. Mr. Turney provided a range of equity financing alternatives including venture capital, private placements and public offerings. He was also engaged in various merger and acquisition activities and corporate partnering transactions while at Hambrecht & Quist. 

Before joining Hambrecht & Quist, Mr. Turney managed Security Pacific Bank’s technology lending business unit which was responsible for providing debt financing to high technology companies. The bank’s technology portfolio consisted of approximately fifty customers ranging in size from start-up to over $1 billion in annual revenues. Transactions completed by the unit included debt financings to accomplish specific objectives such as acquisitions, leveraged buyouts and working capital expansion. 

Mr. Turney has also held positions with Hughes Aircraft Company and Union Bank. He has an MA in Economics and an MBA from the University of Southern California and a BA in Economics from UCLA.
