Prior to joining NewCap Partners in 1994, Mr. Giannini was affiliated with Ventana International Ltd., the merchant banking arm of the Ventana Growth Funds through his own firm, Eurosearch Partners. He previously served as a division president of the Geneva Companies, then a subsidiary of Chemical Bank and one of the leading middle market merger and acquisition firms in the country.

Mr. Giannini joined Geneva from Cumberland Investment Group, a New York based private investment banking partnership dealing with medium-sized public and private companies. Prior to Cumberland he held appointments as Director of White House Operations, Deputy Special Assistant to the President for Administration and as a Deputy Assistant Secretary of Commerce.

For ten years prior to his Washington service Mr. Giannini headed a Los Angeles consulting firm assisting larger clients (Bendix, IBM, PG&E, PPG, Union Carbide, Upjohn) in market and technology assessments of acquisitions, new ventures and new markets. Mr. Giannini was also previously with the Corporate Planning Division of IIT Research Institute (Chicago) and the Corporate Finance department of Kidder, Peabody & Co. in New York.

Over his career Mr. Giannini has served as an intermediary, principal or a material financial advisor in over forty acquisition, merger or divestiture transactions. He has been retained as an expert witness in cases involving acquisitions.

He has also served as CEO or COO of four smaller public companies and two subsidiaries of public companies in transition. Mr. Giannini has served on the Board of Directors of over a dozen public, private and non-profit organizations. He also was an adjunct professor of Entrepreneurial Finance at Chapman University’s Argyos School of Business and for the Health Care Executive MBA program at the University of California Irvine.

Mr. Giannini holds a BSE from Princeton University and is listed in Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in Industry and Finance.
